On 23 November 2013, artists from across Britain will meet at the Spa, Scarborough, North Yorkshire, in a major arts event and national forum, The Art Party Conference, initiated by artist Bob and Roberta Smith, working with Crescent Arts and in association with Sheffield International Venues (SIV).
Contemporary Visual Arts Network are supporting this year’s Art Party Conference 2013, which will be showcasing a wealth of artistic talent with opportunities for debating the future of arts and education. There will be artists’ interventions, performances, film screenings, music, readings, happenings, stands, stalls, speakers, the digital fringe and installations featuring artists including Jeremy Deller, Haroon Mirza, Cornelia Parker, John Smith and Mark Wallinger as well as the Art Party March, an evening of DJs and bands, and culminating in The Art Party Road Movie.
Contemporary Visual Arts Network will be presenting a session at the Conference (details to follow soon) and also plan to take a stand to promote the work of the Network.
The Yorkshire and Humber Visual Arts Network (YVAN), a regional partner of the national Contemporary Visual Arts Network (CVAN) are providing transport for artists from Yorkshire and the Humber wishing to attend the conference. Coaches will leave from Sheffield and Bradford on the morning of the 23rd and will make several stops in major population centres to take on additional delegates. The same coaches will return the delegates to their collection points in the evening. This service will be available to all artists from Yorkshire & the Humber who have booked places at the Art Party Conference.
Some other regional networks within CVAN will also be providing transport from their regions to the Conference and back – details of these will be posted here in due course.
