Show + Tell at The Hepworth Wakefield
On Saturday 16 April SPUR is hosting a Show + Tell alongside the Martin Parr The Rhubarb Triangle & Other Stories exhibition at The Hepworth Wakefield, and local students and emerging artists are invited to take part.
The Rhubarb Triangle & Other Stories is the largest Martin Parr exhibition in the UK since his Barbican retrospective in 2002, comprising more than 300 photographs that span the past 40 years. The exhibition at The Hepworth Wakefield includes a programme of events working with local and national partner organisations, artists and industry professionals.
The event aims to give local students and emerging artists the opportunity to present work to peers and gain feedback from industry professionals. It is a great opportunity for professional development and a chance to create new networks throughout the region.
Taking part in the event is aimed at students and emerging artists working with photography as their main or part of their main practice, through either digital or traditional formats.
Applicants will be expected to present their work for 5 minutes allowing then 5 minutes for feedback. Presentations can be through physical prints, posters, banners, powerpoint etc. technical requirements can be arranged through liaison with SPUR after application.
The event and presentation is an informal event aimed at students & emerging artists giving the chance to talk about their work and ideas in a fun, informal environment, as well as networking with other artists & peers working in the area.
Application: Please submit as a PDF; an artist statement, examples of your work (max 6 images), a link to websites/online platforms if applicable, and a short statement on what you would like to present & how you would like taking part to beneficial to you.
