19th & 20th May 2016
Penrith Old Fire Station, Cumbria
Book your place
At Bivouac #1, the experience you have will be dictated by the small choices you make, and you’ll be in charge of what happens. Five minutes early, or five minutes late? Tea, or coffee? Left, or right? Every decision you make might change your life.
You’ll hear from people like Stella Duffy (Fun Palaces) and Alan Lane (Slung Low) and Adrian Lochhead (Eden Arts), bump into Somewherenowhere and Robyn Woolston, eat with Lynn Barnes from Vista Veg (for free), meet like-minded people, experience new things, be entertained, and simply have fun. You’ll be an active contributor to the day, making the food we all share, or creating a work of art. There will be chance to hang out at the Old Fire Station bar in the evening, eat, drink, watch, talk.
Some themes that may be raised….DEATH, GARDENING, LAND USE, TREES, CLIMATE CHANGE.
Bivouac #1 FRIDAY (9am - 4pm)
Enjoy a ride on Ullswater Steamers and then take in the finest lakeside walk in the Lake District (according to Wainwright). All the while we keep on talking to each other and sharing experiences.
This two day event organised by Eden Arts will give you a chance to meet and network with fellow artists and arts professionals. But we promise, none of you will have the same experience. You’ll be given the chance to explore, to find things nobody else sees, to have an experience that you can share in the bar and when you go home. You’ll go home happy.
It'd be great if you have a Twitter account.
Everyone attending must give us a mobile phone number.

WHERE TO STAY
There are a range of B&B's, hotels and other accommodation in Penrith from Foundry 34 to Premier Inn. If you fancy camping on Ullswater (although you will need a car) we recommend Parkfoot or Waterside House. A good list of accommodation options can be found on VisitEden.
