Children's Art Week will take place across the UK from Saturday 8 to Sunday 16 June 2019.
Children's Art Week is open to venues of all types and sizes to devise and register visual arts events for children and families — from museums and galleries, libraries, community halls and schools, to individual artists and makers.
It's a fantastic opportunity to encourage families, children and young people to visit local venues and get involved in fun, creative activities that they might not have tried before — especially groups who might be new to your venue. In 2018 more than 14,000 participated in Children’s Art Week across the UK. 58% of participants attending their activity were first time visitors to venues, and 40% of participants were audiences who were completely new to the arts.
The first 40 venues, individual artists or makers to register events will receive £50 seed funding to support their event. All registered events will receive resources to help plan and promote their activities, publicity support and free Children's Art Week stickers to hand out on the day.
Visit www.childrensartweek.org.uk for information and resources to help plan your events. Registration opens on Tuesday 23 April 2019 and will run until Friday 24 May 2019.
Children's Art Week is run by Engage, the National Association for Gallery Education, and supported in 2019 by the Arts Society and The D’Oyly Carte Charitable Trust.
