Workshops offered to artists across the East Midlands


Between January and March East Midlands Visual Arts Network will offer a series of artist development workshops across the region in partnership with regional agencies and venues.

Delivered by visual arts specialist and EMVAN Co-ordinator Elizabeth Hawley, the workshops are designed to increase the knowledge and understanding of attendees of their place within a visual arts ecology through advice giving, collective problem solving and practical exercises. and are intended to help them recognise where they are now, where they would like to be and how they might get there.

They will cover areas including:

  • Profile raising
  • Working practices
  • Networking and connectivity
  • Markets and audiences
  • Knowledge sharing  
  • Resourcing a practice

The workshops will take place as follows:

Thursday 30 January, 10.30am - 1.30pm - Creative Learning Centre, Rufford Gallery, Nottinghamshire
Friday 31 January, 10.30am - 1.30pm - Rooftop Gallery, Corby, Northamptonshire

Friday 7 February, 10.30am - 1.30pm - Loughborough University Arts, Leicestershire
Friday 14 February, 10.30am - 1.30pm, The Collection, Lincoln
Tuesday 25 February, 10.30am - 1.30pm - Primary, Nottingham
Thursday 27 February, 1.30-4.30pm - Derbyshire Records Office, Matlock
Friday 28 February, 10.30am - 1.30pm - National Centre for Craft and Design, Sleaford, Lincolnshire

Monday 10 March, 1.30 - 4.30pm - The Silk Mill, Derby
Thursday 20 March,1.30 - 4.30pm - NN Contemporary Art, Northampton
