The Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art is looking for a dedicated team of enthusiastic volunteers to help to support and oversee our major new exhibition programme Harmonious Society.
Harmonious Society will be the largest component of Asia Triennial Manchester 2014 (ATM14) and the most significant exhibition of Chinese contemporary art in the UK to date, featuring new commissions and UK premieres.
Running from 27th September – 23rd November, the exhibition programme will showcase over 30 exceptional Chinese contemporary artists from mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, across six key city centre venues: Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art, ArtWork, The John Rylands Library, Manchester Cathedral, Museum of Science & Industry and National Football Museum.
Working as part of a friendly and diverse team, our Harmonious Society volunteers will be key ambassadors in helping to promote the exhibition and artworks across the city. Working across the six city centre venues, volunteers will play an essential role in the running and development of the Harmonious Society programme. Roles will be primarily customer facing, providing visitors with a warm welcome and information on both the Harmonious Society exhibition strand as well as the wider ATM programme. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to help out at the opening and closing events.
We ask that volunteers for the programme are available to commit to at least 6 x 4 hour shifts across the 8 week exhibition period.
