Each year, Sky Academy support young artists through Sky Academy Arts Scholarships, offering five artists aged 18-30 from the UK and Ireland £30k/€40k towards the development of an artistic project and the cost of living for one year, along with mentoring from Sky and the arts industry. The aim is to support young artists and help take their work to the next level.
Artists can apply in one of six categories: Dance, Music, Theatre and Comedy, Film Production, Creative Producing and Visual Art. Application information can be found online at sky.com/artsscholarships
Applications for 2016 are now open, and to help in spreading the word and encouraging young artists in your networks to apply, you can join the Sky Academy Arts Scholarships social media Thunderclap.
A Thunderclap is a crowd-speaking platform allowing a single tweet or Facebook post to be mass-shared, flash mob style, allowing it to rise above the noise of usual social media. Sky Arts have created a message calling all young artists to apply - to join in and post it, all you need to do is visit our Thunderclap page on the link below and choose to share on Twitter or Facebook. The Thunderclap will then automatically post our message for you at midday on 11th Jan 2016 – it’s that simple!
You can sign up from a personal account, or from an organisation – or both!
