This discursive event will explore the creative dimensions of art writing today, with presentations by writers Colin Perry, Sally O’Reilly and The Tetley’s writer-in-residence Abi Mitchell. A panel discussion and Q&A will cover a number of topics crucial to publishing in the art world, such as identifying different categories and styles of art writing, and deploying research, interpretation and experimentation within particular contexts.
Attendees will be the first to hear about Corridor8’s new critical writing programme – including a number of paid writing opportunities – and other ways to get involved in art writing across the Northern ‘corridor’. A range of publications will be available to browse and purchase (some at discounted rates), and attendees are encouraged to bring along examples of their own work. Writers and artists at any stage of career are welcome, and there will be opportunities to meet other writers and creative professionals throughout the afternoon.
Tickets are £6, and include refreshments.
