As a two-year pilot scheme to develop the market for contemporary art, the Art Market Project, led by Rachel Bradley (Head of Art Market Project) and co-ordinated by Anneka French, ends on 27 May 2016.  The Art Market Project activity has involved the setting up of the website New Art WM to highlight the offer of the West Midlands visual arts scene, supported galleries to participate in art fairs, awarded freelance curator bursaries, developed two selling exhibitions – Annuale 2015 and Salon, established and programmed events for a new Curators’ Network, commissioned new writing, organised patrons, collector and buyer events and developed networks alongside colleagues at Turning Point West Midlands.

The Art Market Project - New Art WM website will continue to be developed as a resource under the New Art West Midlands banner in a new phase of activity of the regional visual arts network, part of the national Contemporary Visual Arts Network (CVAN). The new phase of New Art West Midlands is funded by Arts Council England and a partnership of West Midlands-based universities and HE institutions.
