Public art producers Situations seek an Executive Director

Bristol-based public art producers Situations are seeking a highly confident, resourceful and resilient Executive Director to join our company. This new role will work with the Director, Claire Doherty, to lead the next chapter in the organisation’s story – ensuring that we have the organisational and financial capacity and know-how to deliver its ambitious vision.

The main purpose of this role is to ensure that the engine of Situations – the financial and operational capacity and workings of the organisation – not only runs smoothly and efficiently but that the needs of the growing organisation are forecasted and suitably met. This requires responsive shared leadership between the Director and Executive Director and an ability to respond to opportunities and challenges with equal resourcefulness.

The ideal candidate will be a senior manager in the arts with a track record of outstanding strategic and business planning; demonstrable financial and fundraising experience and confident and well-developed interpersonal skills. A positive thinker and active contributor, they will demonstrate a genuine understanding of how to establish and sustain an operational structure and working environment in which the creative process can flourish.

We will be undertaking a two-stage interview process with short 30-minute interviews on Friday 1 July at our Bristol office at Spike Island and more in-depth second-stage interviews which will involve meeting the team and associates on Monday 11th July.
