Manchester's fair for emerging contemporary art, the Manchester Contemporary returns for an eighth year from 22-25 September. Taking place alongside Buy Art Fair, the Manchester Contemporary is an unrivalled incubator of artistic talent. It offers works for sale from the most exciting, critically engaged contemporary artists and galleries, many of whom will subsequently embark on the international art fair network.
On Saturday 24 September there will be a discussion and debate that seeks to unravel how and why certain cities have become recognised as centres for the Art Market, as well as exploring what kind of Art Market centre Manchester, and more broadly the North West, currently is and can become. Fair Cities: Exploring the Ecology of Art Market Centres is organised by The International 3 on behalf of CVAN NW and is delivered in partnership with CVAN NW, The Manchester Contemporary and a-n The Artists Information Company. It is supported by CVAN NW via Arts Council England, The Manchester Contemporary and a-n The Artists Information Company.
