Seven Stories, The National Centre for Children's Books requires an artist/producer to create a playful and interactive street art trail featuring, and inspired by, the work of Newcastle-based award-winning writer, David Almond as part of the Great Exhibition of the North (June – September 2018).
The artist/producer will:
- Design, create and install seven public artworks in seven outdoors locations in the Ouseburn valley that work with specially commissioned short fictions produced by David Almond.
- Work with one pre-invited local school over a maximum of three x 2 hours sessions to engage them in the development of some of the work.
- Engage and manage any subcontracted elements of this work.
- The work will inspire, surprise and challenge children, young people and families with literature through a creative presentation of fiction in novel and highly visible locations.
Total budget - £40,000 (including VAT)
