CVAN South East is pleased to announce the selection for the Platform Graduate Award 2019. Twenty-three graduates have been chosen from across fourteen universities, representing some of the finest emerging visual artists in the South East region. Between September 2019 and January 2020, the graduates’ degree show work will be exhibited in the four partner galleries – Aspex in Portsmouth, MK Gallery in Milton Keynes, Modern Art Oxford and Turner Contemporary in Margate.

CVAN East Midlands: New research seeks to uncover the realities of the East Midlands visual arts community 

CVAN EM is working in partnership with CAMEo, the University of Leicester's research institute, on a project - It Takes A Region To Raise An Artist - that will help develop a detailed understanding of the visual arts sector in the East Midlands region. The research focuses on: visual arts practitioners, the places and spaces, and the facilities and resources that exist to support them. It will assess the strengths of the sector, identify gaps in provision, and explore the potential of the visual arts’ economy. 

CVAN EM and CAMEo are seeking artists and visual arts professionals from Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, and Rutland to participate in their survey.

Sculpture Production Award 2019 - Open for Applications - Deadline 10/5/2019

Four CVAN regions are partnering on a new sculpture production award being offered by the Pangaea Sculptors’ Centre. The regions are CVAN South East, CVAN East Midlands, New Art West Midlands, and Yorkshire & Humber Visual Arts Network

Open to emerging artists working in 3D, based within the UK but outside of London, the Sculpture Production Award 2019 will provide six sculptors with skills mentoring and a £1,000 production grant towards the realisation of a new work. One of the six artists will also be invited to exhibit at the Coventry Biennial 2019.
